'Rohit Sharma deliberately underperforming under Hardik Pandya': Twitter levels serious allegations against MI star

Rohit Sharma's horror run in the ongoing IPL 2025 was further extended on Sunday (April 13) as he failed to fire with the bat during the match between Delhi Capitals and Mumbai Indians at the Arun Jaitley Stadium in Delhi.
The former MI captain has been going through a lean patch in the ongoing tournament. While he has been getting the starts with the bat, he has not been able to convert them into big scores so far. Rohit Sharma's campaign in IPL 2025 started in a dismal fashion as he was out for a duck against Chennai Super Kings.
In the following game against Gujarat Titans, he registered yet another single-digit score as Mohammed Siraj dismissed him for just 8 runs. Rohit Sharma finally managed to reach double-digits this season when he scored 13 runs against Kolkata Knight Riders.

With MI chasing only 117 runs against KKR, Rohit had the opportunity to take his time and get some much-needed runs under his belt. However, he squandered that opportunity as well. The India captain missed MI's clash against Lucknow Super Giants due to a niggle before returning to action for the game against Royal Challengers Bengaluru.
Rohit managed to cross the 15-run mark for the first time this season during the RCB game but did not last long. He had to depart for only 17 runs.
Rohit Sharma flops again:
After four poor knocks in a row, Rohit Sharma got another opportunity to regain his form when he came out to open the innings against Delhi Capitals on Sunday. He struggled early on before getting into his groove by hitting Mitchell Starc for two fours and a six in the third over.
However, he could score only two more runs before being dismissed by Vipraj Nigam on the final ball of the fifth over. Rohit tried to play a sweep shot but could not make any contact with the ball. He was given out lbw. The MI opener departed after scoring only 18 runs.
As Rohit failed to deliver with the bat for the fifth match in a row this season, the fans quickly took to social media to take shots at him. Here are some of the reactions to Rohit's latest failure with the bat.
Rohit Sharma’s last 5 innings: 0, 8, 13, 17, 18

This is the toughest phase of Rohit’s IPL career but champions always find a way to bounce back. He has silenced trolls before, he will silence them again.
Those who understand Rohit’s game know that he is just an innings away… pic.twitter.com/tfh7uAtEax
People don't even discuss Rohit Sharma failing in the IPL much anymore. Him succeeding comes across as more of an anomaly than a norm.

Rohit Sharma has become a joke . Failed again and again..

But no former indian player will talk about it because all these former players lick Rohit Sharma's feet.
Pure liability in cricket. pic.twitter.com/wvIVk8GwRM

Carelessness, 0 game awareness, not understanding his strengths and weaknesses and not putting a price on your wicket.

Rohit Sharma's career in a nutshell.
It hurts man! Despite having everything in his disposal, he continues to let people down.
Will he play for India again?
Kudos to Rohit Sharma on finally equalling Pat Cummins' runs tally this season 👏🏻 pic.twitter.com/eFZgMNjX49

Hey Hardik Pandya and MI management,

Why is this liability Rohit Sharma still in the team? Sack him immediately. We are not paying him 16 crore just to travel with the squad. Remove him from the team at once. pic.twitter.com/AE5U8KQeli
Hardik Pandya helped Rohit Sharma win 2 ICC trophies, but now Rohit Sharma is deliberately not playing under Hardik Pandya's captaincy.

I've never seen such a selfish player💔 pic.twitter.com/8fcqi5JeFW
The difference between Rohit and Virat this IPL is that Rohit is taking it casually while Virat is putting a price on his wicket
— Vinesh Prabhu (@vlp1994) April 13, 2025
Rohit will get off to a start and then get out while playing a lose shot while Virat will take some extra time but will ensure he scores runs
It is not an issue of skill, it is an issue of mindset, it is not T10, it is T20.

You can't hit the boundary at every ball, you can't. pic.twitter.com/DpLwVmMPxm
Washed. Unbelievable consistency from Rohit. It's shocking how he does this every other game in IPL since a decade...
