India ODI skipper Rohit Sharma recently opened up about his weakness in cricket. He has been dismissed 110 times against left-hand bowlers and criticized harshly by the experts. In response to his weakness, Rohit called the dismissals part of the game.

Rohit also added that he can't defend himself all the time on getting out to left-hand bowlers. In the IPL 2025, he got out thrice against left-hand bowlers and most interestingly, all three pacers were Indian Khaleel Ahmed, Yash Dayal, and Arshad Khan.

In recent times, he was just going on the ground with guns blazing, and in response to his attacking mindset, he was dismissed many times by left-arm pacers.

Rohit Sharma's record against left-hand bowlers

Rohit faced the left-arm bowlers in 354 innings and scored 5162 runs against them at an average of 46.92 in all formats of the game. His strike rate is also decent, with 85.44.

“I’ve faced a lot of criticism, even unnecessary criticism. I can’t say that criticism doesn’t affect anyone. So much has been said about me getting out to left-arm seamers. Fine, it happens. That’s part of the game. But if you go around defending every comment, you’re just wasting your time. Defending myself is not my job,” Sharma stated on Vimal Kumar's channel.

Rohit's batting form also dipped in recent years, and he also announced his retirement from Test cricket a few days back. He finished his long Test career with 4301 runs at an average of 40.57 in 67 matches.

He also made 12 tons in his Test career, and all the centuries came in the winning cause.

The former skipper led India in 24 Test matches, in which the Men in Blue won 12 matches and drew three games.

He also took India to the final of the World Test Championship in 2023 but lost the final against Australia.

Rohit Sharma's IPL 2025 journey

Rohit Sharma made 300 runs in 11 matches at an average of 30. He was playing as an impact player for his team.

Rohit started IPL 2025 at a slow pace, but after some matches, he found his rhythm. He will be looking to find form early on after the IPL resumes in the coming days.
