The Indian cricket team is likely to have an open bus tour of Mumbai after they arrive in India. The team recently won the T20 World Cup 2024 in Barbados with a thrilling win over South Africa in the final.

Earlier, the team was scheduled to arrive by Wednesday evening but their departure from Barbados was delayed due to the Hurricane Beryl hitting the island nation. According to the reports, the team is now scheduled to arrive in Delhi on Thursday at 6 AM.

Team India likely to have an open bus Mumbai tour

After arriving in Delhi, the Indian team will meet Prime Minister Narendra Modi, who will fecilitate the team on their historic triumph. Narendra Modi congratulated India on winning the T20 World Cup 2024 earlier and also had a call with Rahul Dravid, Rohit Sharma, and Virat Kohli.

After meeting the Prime Minister, the team will travel to Mumbai where they are likely to have a city tour of Mumbai with their World Cup trophy. Even in 2007 when MS Dhoni led a young team to the T20 World Cup title, the team had an open bus parade in Mumbai in which thousands of people gathered to witness the champion team.

This could be a significant moment in the lives of these players. This was the biggest moment in the lives of most cricketers in this team and a historic scene of 2007 is likely to be recreated once again.

India claim an ICC Trophy after 11 years

Meanwhile, India claimed a famous win over South Africa to win the T20 World Cup 2024. The win has a great significance since India had not won any ICC title since the last 11 years. The last ICC title won by the team was the 2013 Champions Trophy when MS Dhoni led them to a title.

Since then, despite getting close to winning a title on numerous occasions, The Men in Blue failed cross the final hurdle. The most recent example is the ODI World Cup 2023 where India reached the final without losing a single game.

They were favourites for the final but Australia produced a great all-round display to knock out the hosts. However, in the T20 World Cup 2024, it was India, who knocked out Australia from the Super 8 stage.

After the win over Australia, India defeated England in the semi-finals and capped off their perfect tournament by beating South Africa in the final. They remained unbeaten throughout the tournament and became the first team in the history to win a T20 World Cup title without losing a game.
