Indian ODI and Test captain Rohit Sharma is on the verge of achieving a significant milestone during the upcoming two-match Test series against Bangladesh at home.
Rohit Sharma has the opportunity to overtake Team India head coach Gautam Gambhir in the elite list of Indian batters in Test cricket.
Rohit Sharma is currently enjoying a break from international cricket at home. He was last seen in action during the three-match ODI series against Sri Lanka earlier this month.
The right-handed batter will return to action when the Indian team takes on Bangladesh in the Test series in September.
The Rohit Sharma-led team will face Bangladesh in the first Test match at the MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai, starting on September 19.
India will play the second match at the Green Park in Kanpur from September 27 to October 1. The series is part of the World Test Championship (WTC) 2023-25 cycle.
India will aim to win the series against Bangladesh to retain the top spot in the World Test Championship standings.
This series will be the first Test series with Rohit as captain and Gautam Gambhir as head coach. India reached the finals in the first two WTC editions but failed to secure the title.
