In what will be a massive boost for the India National Cricket Team, skipper Rohit Sharma and Mohammed Shami are all set to join the team ahead of the start of the Border-Gavaskar Trophy 2024-25. As per the reports in Danik Bhaskar, the duo will be traveling together to Perth.
India National Cricket Team have been putting in hard yards in Australia ahead of the Border-Gavaskar Trophy 2024-25. The team is undergoing match simulation and despite facing injury issues, they are making sure that they give their everything with the bat and ball.
The Indian team is currently without the skipper Rohit, who didn't travel with the team due to the birth of his child. It was earlier reported that it would clash with the first Test, and hence, he will be missing the opening game in Perth.

However, Rohit, along with his wife, welcomed their second child on Friday (15th November). Although there still isn't any confirmation about his availability, recent reports claimed that he is most likely to join the India National Cricket Team squad before the first Test.
Rohit has been training in Mumbai to prepare for the Border-Gavaskar Trophy 2024-25. The Indian opener has been seen batting in nets and also working on his fitness. If he becomes available for the first Test, it will be a massive boost for the team going into the series.

The reports added that Mohammed Shami will be accompanying Rohit Sharma on the flight to Australia. The fast bowler wasn't named in the squad because there was uncertainty over his availability but the pacer made his return to the Cricket through the Ranji Trophy 2024-25.
Mohammed Shami played for Bengal in the game against Madhya Pradesh. The fast bowler looked in rhythm and bowled impeccable lines and lengths. He picked up four wickets in the first innings and then returned with a three-wicket haul in the second innings.

The Border-Gavaskar Trophy 2024-25 will begin on 22nd November. The series opener will be played at the WACA Stadium in Perth. The series will be extremely important for both teams in the context of the ICC World Championship as both teams stand a chance to qualify for the final. The series surely will depict the finalists of the WTC. Currently, Australia are at the top of the table and India are second on the table.
