Rohit Sharma has hit 112 sixes in just 47 ODIs as India's captain. This shows the talent he possesses when it comes to six-hitting. On the other hand, former India captain Sourav Ganguly led India in 147 ODI matches and hit 115 sixes.

This means that Rohit is just 3 sixes behind Ganguly despite having led India in almost less than 100 matches so far. Ganguly was known to be a great six-hitter during his time, especially against the spinners.

However, Rohit is way ahead of Ganguly in this aspect and is likely to surpass the former India captain at some time if he fails to do it in the upcoming match. It is possible that Rohit can equal or surpass Ganguly in the upcoming ODI against Sri Lanka.

Rohit Sharma's current form in ODIs

The Indian captain has been in good form this series having scored 122 runs in two ODIs at an average of 61. He is the highest run-scorer of the series and is likely to play a big part if India aims to end the series on a high note.

Rohit Sharma is one of the finest cricketers that India have produced. In white-ball cricket, his records are exceptional. In ODI cricket, he has scored over 10000 runs so far in 264 matches at an average of 49.23 and a strike rate of 92.29. His best of 264* is the highest individual score in ODI cricket.

Sri Lanka lead India 1-0 going into the final ODI

The three-match ODI series between Sri Lanka and India is currently in Sri Lanka's favor. The hosts are currently leading the series 1-0 after a stunning victory in the second ODI. The first match of the series ended in a thrilling tie.

Apart from the captain Rohit Sharma, Indian batters have struggled so far against Sri Lankan spinners. While Wanindu Hasaranga and Charith Asalanka shared 6 wickets between them in the first ODI, legspinner Jeffrey Vandersay picked up 6-33 in the second ODI.

India's star batting line-up will be under severe pressure to perform this time around and make a statement. The Men in Blue are scheduled to play its next ODI series against England in February next year.
