Rohit Sharma receives BCCI communication about future

Rohit Sharma, the former Indian captain, has to witness the same fate as that of Virat Kohli. Despite his unstoppable form and improved fitness, he has not been spared from domestic participation, and the BCCI has made its intentions very clear to the veterans.
Despite their stellar return to the longer format of white-ball cricket, former Indian captain Rohit Sharma has also been given the same orders as Virat Kohli. The BCCI has been quite stubborn about international players making themselves available for domestic games.
This entire idea came into consideration when Indian head coach Gautam Gambhir asked Indian players to represent their state teams when they are not on international duty. No special considerations have been made for even the greatest of players.
Rohit Sharma was also instructed to play the Vijay Hazare Trophy
After his retirement from Test cricket, Chief Selector Ajit Agarkar and head coach Gautam Gambhir had made it clear that Rohit Sharma would need to feature in the Vijay Hazare Trophy to remain in the loop for the Indian ODI team and the 2027 ICC ODI World Cup.
Reportedly, Cricbuzz sources had also learned that the former Indian captain and the winner of two ICC titles has reported to the Mumbai Cricket Association that he will be available for the upcoming season of the Vijay Hazare Trophy.
Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli also had to feature in the Ranji Trophy last season under this domestic cricket policy of the Indian management, ahead of the Border-Gavaskar Trophy in 2024-25.

Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli to clash in VHT
Virat Kohli has also been reported to make himself available for the Vijay Hazare Trophy after the DDCA President shared an official report claiming his availability for the Delhi team. Further reports from ANI claimed that he would feature in four games.
The Delhi team is placed in Group D alongside Gujarat, Services, Saurashtra, Odisha, Railways, Haryana and Andhra this year.
Their first match is against Andhra at Alur. Though Mumbai is not in the same group, yet these two might clash if their teams head to the knockouts and the Indian veterans play for their respective states.
The two have never played domestic cricket against each other in the last 15 years, though they have rivals in the IPL, with Rohit Sharma leading the Mumbai Indians and Virat Kohli taking charge of RCB.
Rohit and Virat would look to carry stupendous form in the South Africa ODIs
Rohit came back even stronger than Virat Kohli himself. He looked determined and lost nearly 11 kg before he returned to the Indian squad for the Australia tour. Sharma has looked more energetic and fluent than before, with his fitness revived.
Rohit has now been taking quick singles, doubling up with his partners and swinging his bat more swiftly. He has played 4 matches in international cricket since his return and is the highest scorer for India with 259 runs.
Averaging 86.33, Rohit has scored two half-centuries and a century and will look to carry his record forward in the remaining games of the South Africa home series. The Vishakhapatnam Stadium is an ideal black soil bouncy track loved by Rohit Sharma, and India will play their final game of the series on that ground.
