Rohit Sharma achieved multiple records in his potential last-ever match for the India National Cricket Team. He is officially now the batter with the most runs against the SENA (South Africa, England, New Zealand, and Australia) countries.

Additionally, he has achieved another feat when India is chasing a target of 388 runs against England at Lord’s tonight, on July 19. The former India captain reached 1,500 ODI runs in England, as the first overseas player to do so.

The partnership of Rohit Sharma and Shubman Gill keeps India in the series decider against England.

To touch the 1,500-run mark, Rohit needed to score 35 runs, and he did so in 32 balls only. With Rohit Sharma and Shubman Gill in the middle, the Indian cricket team, still in the contest, fared fairly against England’s first innings total of 387 runs.

A batter like Rohit Sharma, if he remains on track with his natural bat swing, could help the Men in Blue make history tonight at ‘Home of Cricket’.

The last couple of matches against England did not go well enough for the 39-year-old opener to claim the headlines for good reasons. More than his batting, it was a series of speculations for which he remained a trending topic across social media platforms.

According to several media reports, this match in London is most likely to be his last match for the India National Cricket Team. However, there is no official confirmation yet not reached yet which could end the rumors.

England batters were brilliant against the Indian bowlers

As soon as the match started, England batters caught the attention through their batting, which allowed them to register a total of 387 runs. Ben Duckett scored a century to provide the home team a solid platform. Jacob Bethell, the other half of England's opening pair, also could have got a century, but dismissed for 91 runs. Later, explosive knocks from Joe Root and Jos Buttler took the team's total to the peak.

Spotlights shone again on Rohit Sharma when Indian openers walked onto the ground to chase the total, which looked impossible to chase.

It is a must-win match for the visiting team, as England bounced back in Cardiff to make the scoreline of the 3-match ODI series 1-1. As both of the teams have claimed one win each, the winner of the Lord's match will claim the series.

A few other records Rohit Sharma still could achieve

When the team needed him the most, Rohit stood tall again. The batter, who was struggling against extra bounce on English conditions, confidently started tonight's innings. He was watchful, but not all about defence. Whenever the batter spotted opportunities, he welcomed that with both arms.

According to the stats, Rohit Sharma needed only one 6 to register the most number of maximums against England as an Indian batter. If he could smash 3 sixes, then he would claim the record for smashing the most sixes against SENA countries. And if 'Hitman' could take on the bowlers for 8 sixes, then he will get the record for hitting the most number of 6s in England as a visiting batter.
