Rohit Sharma showed how T20 World Cup is won: Suryakumar Yadav gives all credit to India captain for historic triumph

Indian T20I specialist Suryakumar Yadav has lauded his captain Rohit Sharma after India bagged the trophy in the ICC T20 World Cup 2024. Suryakumar Yadav also revealed Rohit Sharma's motto during the tournament to win the trophy. 

Rohit Sharma-led Team India won the T20 World Cup 2024 title after defeating South Africa in the final. The Men-in-Blue outplayed Proteas by 7 runs in the match to clinch a nail-biting victory. 

Team India also fulfilled the long desire of Indian fans to win an ICC title after 2013. Moreover, Team India did not lose a single game in the tournament and were unbeaten throughout the tournament. 

If I start with Rohit Sharma, I feel the whole day will pass: Suryakumar Yadav

During a chat on RevSportz, Suryakumar Yadav hailed skipper Rohit Sharma for his captainship during the tournament. He revealed Sharma has a connection with all the players. 

"If I start with Rohit Sharma, I feel the whole day will pass. Or even the whole week can pass. The amount of connection that he has shown with all the players. Like, he was calm and kept others calm in the dressing room,  on the ground, and during practice sessions.  He didn't let anyone think about the future", said Yadav, who got for 9 runs in the final. 

"Like, if we are playing the league first,  then we will play Super 8.  We will go ahead from Super 8.  We have a semi-final with them. We have to play the final. Then we will do all this", he further added.

Our motto was to keep your mind where your feet are: Suryakumar Yadav 

Revealing Rohit Sharma's motto to win the tournament, Suryakumar said the former T20I skipper told them to focus on only one game at a time. 

"Nothing else. He told us only to be focusing on one game and to think about the moment wherever it is. And this time, our motto was to keep your mind where your feet are", the 33-year-old said. 

The right-handed batsman also mentioned that Rohit Sharma led from the front.

"He has been working so hard for so many years. And he showed how this format is played and how this tournament is won," he added.

Suryakumar Yadav grabbed a crucial catch in India vs South Africa final 

Suryakumar Yadav took an amazing catch in the India vs South Africa final of the ICC T20 World Cup 2024. Yadav pulled the ball out of the boundary and caught the ball just in time to dismiss Kagiso Rabada in the last over of Hardik Pandya. The ball would have cleared the ropes if he had not made those efforts. 

Although the right-handed batter could not come up with a good knock in the final, he showed brilliant form in the ICC T20 World Cup 2024. The middle-order batsman slammed 50* vs USA, 53 vs Afghanistan, 31 vs Australia, and a crucial 47 vs England during the tournament.
