Well, Rohit acknowledged that every team relishes the chance to beat India, and it has become a goal for many teams, but their focus is solely on their own game.

Sending an open warning to the Bangladesh cricket team, the Indian captain said that the tourists are allowed to find joy in trying to outplay Team India and insisted that they are unfazed by the outside noise, having already competed and defeated the toughest teams in the world.

Rohit Sharma said at the press conference in Chennai: “Every team wants to beat India; they all enjoy that. Lene do maze (let them enjoy). We have played a lot of cricket against variety of teams. We will focus on our own game.”

Meanwhile, the Indian cricket team will have a completely fresh coaching staff for the upcoming home Test series against Bangladesh, except for the fielding coach, T. Dilip.

With Gautam Gambhir, Abhishek Nayar, Morne Morkel, and Ryan ten Doeschate now part of the coaching staff, there’s a fresh energy in the team, and Rohit admitted that they have to adjust with them.

Rohit said that he knows Gambhir and Nayar’s style, and he is impressed by how seamlessly Morkel has transitioned into coaching.

However, the Indian captain Rohit hasn’t had much interaction with Ryan, but he is well aware of the former Netherlands all-rounder’s calm influence.

Ahead of the first Test against Bangladesh in Chennai, Rohit is assured that his players will gel well with the new coaching team, with each bringing their unique style, stressing adapting to different coaching techniques is second nature.

You have to adjust accordingly: Indian captain on changes in support staff

After 17 years of playing international cricket, the Indian captain said that he is well aware that every coach brings their philosophy to the table.

Whether it was working with Rahul Dravid, Vikram Rathour, or Paras Mhambrey in the past or now with the new coaches, things will be the same, and Rohit said that he is ready to adjust to new perspectives in the team.

Rohit noted, “I know Gautam Gambhir and Abhishek Nayar really well. Against Morne Morkel, we have played some really tough cricket. Ryan, I hadn’t much chance either, but whatever I came to know about, he looks quite understanding in Sri Lanka. Like I said, I know Gautam Gambhir really well. Everybody has their own style—Rahul, Paras, and Vikram had their own way.”

He signed off by saying, “I have worked with different coaches; I have been playing for 17 years now, so I know they all have different perspectives, and you have to adjust accordingly. We don’t have any issues as such; understanding is quite important, and we have that.”
