India National Cricket Team skipper Rohit Sharma took responsibility for the team's poor outing with the bat in the ongoing first Test against the New Zealand National Cricket Team. The hosts had a terrible day at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru.

India National Cricket Team skipper Rohit Sharma was the one who opted to bat first on the tricky pitch and overcast conditions; he said he wanted to put runs on the board. But the move didn't pay off as the New Zealand bowlers made batters dance to their tunes with the new ball.

Rohit Sharma starts the presser with Chalao Talwaar

Rohit Sharma, who opened the innings, was the first wicket to fall, and it triggered the collapse of the team. The India National Cricket Team got all out for 46 runs. This was the lowest-ever score on which a team got bundled out in Test cricket in Asia.

As the India National Cricket Team had a poor outing with the bat, Rohit Sharma himself came out to attend the media. However, as he entered the press conference, he started by saying: "Chalao Talwaar (get your knives out.)", as per the ESPNCricinfo.

I think for us to stay in the game, we want to not let them get away - Rohit Sharma

Rohit Sharma also talked about making a comeback in the game. He said that if they want to be at the top again, they need to stop the opposition from scoring big. He admitted that although New Zealand have scored runs, they want to restrict them to as less as possible.

Rohit also provided an insight about the wicket, saying that the surface seems to be settling down a little bit. He also admitted that they need to come up with a humongous effort with the bat to make the game out of it. Speaking to reporters, he explained:

"I think for us to stay in the game, we want to not let them get away," he said. "[They've scored] Way too many runs, clearly they're 180, so that's about 140 runs [134], so [keep them] as less as possible.

"The wicket seems to be settling down a little bit, so we expect the pitch to play like that. We got to bat really big in the second and try and see if we can make a game out of that."

Hugely forgettable day for India - Harsha Bhogle

Reputed commentator Harsha Bhogle gave his verdict on the poor day for the India National Cricket Team. He felt that it was a forgettable day for the hosts as getting all out for 46 is unacceptable.

He added that the game is in favor of New Zealand and the Kiwis have played with great spirit and great skill. Taking to Twitter account, he explained:

"Hugely forgettable day for India. However difficult the conditions, they will be the first to admit that 46 is unacceptable. This match is in New Zealand's corner unless there is a dramatic start when play begins tomorrow. And well deserved too for NZ, they have played with great spirit and great skill."

After getting all out for 46, India National Cricket Team failed to get early wickets. Devon Conway played a magical innings of 91 runs and was supported well by Will Young (33). At stumps, Rachin Ravindra (22*) and Daryl Mitchell (14*) were batting as the visitors were 180 for three and had a lead of 134 runs.
