Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli pass fitness tests

Kohli and Rohit Sharma are currently active in international cricket only as single-format players. They retired from T20I cricket in 2024 after an epic triumph in the ICC Men's T20 World Cup 2024.

They also brought an end to their successful Test careers together - ahead of the India tour of England 2025. Rohit Sharma took to his Instagram handle to announce his Test retirement and decision to step down from captaincy on May 7, 2025. Then, a few days later, on May 12, 2025, Virat Kohli announced his Test retirement via an Instagram post.

Earlier, a few reports claimed that the series in Australia could be Kohli and Rohit's last appearance in international cricket, and they would retire from ODI cricket after the Australia series. However, another set of reports came out later, which suggested that the duo won't be retiring. Kohli and Rohit Sharma themselves also shut down the reports when they returned to training.

The duo put in hard work in the gym and nets to prepare themselves for the Australia tour after staying away from competitive cricket for a while. Also, they have passed the fitness tests conducted by the BCCI. Overall, Rohit Sharma and Kohli have played 273 and 302 ODI matches in their legendary careers and have scored 11168 and 14181 runs respectively at an amazing average of 48.76 and 57.88.

Ravindra Jadeja, KL Rahul, Dhruv Jurel shine vs the West Indies

India are currently involved in a two-match Test series against West Indies at home. The first Test is currently underway at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad, where KL Rahul, Dhruv Jurel, and Ravindra Jadeja slammed terrific tons.

Former India opener Aakash Chopra lavished rich praise on Ravindra Jadeja following his ton and labelled him as the undisputed World’s Number 1 Test all-rounder.

"Jadeja is the undisputed World’s Number 1 Test All-Rounder. The one aspect that’s not celebrated enough is his fitness. He hasn’t lost any pace or sharpness on the field. Running between the wickets etc. He’s rarely injured too. Incredible Player. 🙇‍♂️ #IndvWI," the cricketer-turned-commentator wrote on X.

Meanwhile, former opener Wasim Jaffer lauded Dhruv Jurel and Ravindra Jadeja for their stunning partnership.

"A double century partnership to put India firmly in control. Jurel with a superb maiden Test ton, Jadeja with his 6th, he’s become such a reliable presence with the bat. Well played #INDvWI," Jaffer stated.
