The two greatest servants of Indian cricket, Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli, have not received the farewell they deserved and have rather been insulted by raising doubts on their calibre to continue in ODI cricket after retirement from Tests. The veterans never seemed happy with these events.

Indian veterans Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli followed each other's footsteps to retire from both T20I and Test cricket. Though the T20I cricket might have needed a transition, many felt the Indian Test side still needed these cricketers, especially Virat Kohli.

Virat last played for India in red-ball cricket in the Border-Gavaskar Trophy, where he could not bag too many runs after having started off with a hundred. Rohit, on the other hand, struggled with his average going down to single digits.

Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli are disgusted by the controversial Social media campaigns

After announcing their retirements at the start of this new WTC cycle, Rohit and Virat called for their retirements. But what shocked all was that the BCCI and the Indian selectors started having doubts about their calibre in the ODI format as well.

Rohit and Virat, who were architects behind India's ICC Champions Trophy triumph, were thought to be snubbed from the Indian ODI team against their will. The social media campaigns pestered the two veterans until they returned with a stunning show against Australia.

Rohit lost weight and came back to be the highest scorer for India in the series with 200+ runs in 3 games. He scored an unbeaten hundred in the final game of the series to take India over the line alongside Virat Kohli with another unbeaten half-century.

Rohit and Virat to fight back against the Indian management as well as the BCCI

Vikrant Gupta has reported that the two legends of the game, Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma, will be seen fighting against the Indian management. This might not sound the best yet, but it was evident that the two were not pleased with the Indian management and the social media ruckus surrounding their retirement.

"Virat & Rohit have to fight together against the Indian Cricket System. You may not like to hear it, but it is the truth: Rohit & Virat were not happy past months. The questions that were raised through media & social media about whether they will be kicked out—were they happy about it? no.

"Now it looks like they want to fight back, led by Rohit Sharma, and Virat also joined him, & they don't want to go before the ICC ODI World Cup 2027," said Vikrant Gupta.

Ajit Agarkar is to feel the heat after the veterans decide not to bow down

The legendary Indian batters standing against the Indian management as well as the BCCI administration will be a tough sight. Ajit Agarkar, the current Chief Selector for India, will struggle to answer questions raised if this happens.

He had claimed that the selection was under scrutiny due to the increasing age of the greats and doubt over their fitness till the 2027 World Cup. However, they have proved Agarkar wrong, and now a fightback would surely land him in a fix.
