Indian pacer Arshdeep Singh has hailed Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli for their immense contribution to the Indian team over the years. After their T20I retirement, Arshdeep Singh has said their legacies will be remembered for generations.

Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli gave a rocking show in the ICC T20 World Cup 2024 to lead India to the title. Sharma and Kohli led the way from the front and took the opening slots for the side. Sharma scored multiple good knocks at the start while Kohli struggled to score on US and West Indies pitches.

However, Virat Kohli slammed a 76-run match-winning knock in the final and helped the team to rebuild innings after losing quick wickets at the start. He struggled to score well in the Group and Super 8 stages but won the Player of the Match award in the final.

However, Indian fans got mixed emotions of happiness and sadness just after the match as Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma bid goodbye to the shortest format. During a chat with IANS, Indian pacer Arshdeep Singh hailed Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma for their contribution to Indian cricket over the years.

"Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli have left an indelible mark on T20I cricket. Their contributions have been immense, and their legacy will be remembered for generations", he said.

"Rohit bhai's explosive batting at the top and his sharp captaincy have set new benchmarks in the format. Virat bhai, with his consistent performances and relentless pursuit of excellence, has been a role model for cricketers around the world," he further added.

Arshdeep Singh reveals best thing about Rohit Sharma's captaincy

Speaking about Rohit Sharma's captaincy, Arshdeep Singh said it's always an incredible experience to play under him as he gives full freedom to the bowlers. He also added that Sharma backs his players to play their natural game and termed it as the best thing about his captainship.

"Playing under Rohit Sharma's captaincy has been an incredible experience. Rohit bhai is definitely fully a bowler's captain. He allows every bowler full freedom to execute what they want to do on the field. He has a unique way of keeping the dressing room atmosphere light and positive, which really helps in high-pressure situations," the left-arm pacer said.

"What I like the most about his leadership is his calm demeanour on the field. He always backs his players, giving us the confidence to play our natural game. His strategic thinking and the way he read the game are truly inspiring, and I have learned a lot from him about handling different match scenarios," the T20I specialist further added.

Arshdeep Singh to play under Rohit Sharma in Sri Lanka series

Meanwhile, Arshdeep Singh was also part of the ICC T20 World Cup 2024. The left-arm pacer grabbed a 4-wicket haul in one match. He gave good support to Jasprit Bumrah and Mohammed Siraj in the pace department. The Punjab Kings pacer finished as the highest wicket-taker for the side with 17 wickets.

He is also part of the forthcoming series against Sri Lanka and part of both ODI and T20Is. Notably, the left-armer will also play under skipper Rohit Sharma in India vs Sri Lanka ODI series. Suryakumar Yadav will lead the T20I team. Singh has only played a handful of ODI games so far but is a regular member of the T20I side.
