Rovman Powell Bought By Rajasthan Royals For Rs 7.40 Crores In IPL Auction 2024

West Indies star Rovman Powell will ply his trade for Rajasthan Royals in the upcoming season of the Indian Premier League (IPL). The first-ever IPL winners secured the services of the big-hitting West Indian in the ongoing IPL auction 2024.

The right-handed batsman had set his base price at Rs 1 crore. Rajasthan Royals and Kolkata Knight Riders showed interest in the player but the latter eventually decided to give up at Rs 7.40 crore mark. With no other franchise showing interest in the player, Rajasthan Royals got another big-hitter in their ranks.

While Rovman Powell is yet to make a big impact in the IPL, there is absolutely no denying that the current West Indies T20 captain is one of the most feared batters in the world. He has the ability to change the game in a blink of an eye because of his hard-hitting abilities. He also has ample experience in T20 cricket, having played for almost a dozen franchises so far.

In T20s, he has played 184 games to date and has scored more than 3300 runs at a strike rate of almost 140 with the help of 1 century and 14 half-centuries. In International T20s, he has scored over 1200 runs at a strike rate of more than 143 with the help of 1 century and 5 half-centuries. In IPL, he has played 17 games thus far and has scored 257 runs at a strike rate of more than 146.
