Virat Kohli was absolutely livid with himself after being dismissed in the ongoing Eliminator game of IPL 2024 between Rajasthan Royals and Royal Challengers Bengaluru at the Narendra Modi Stadium.
Unlike the recent games, Virat Kohli did not go all out from the start and made a cautious start. With so much at stake, the former RCB skipper decided against going for the risky shots and mixed caution with aggression to keep the scoreboard ticking.
However, before he could shift gears and convert his start into a big score, his former RCB teammate Yuzvendra Chahal ended his stay at the crease. In the eighth over, Chahal bowled one in the slot and invited the former India skipper to go big. The leg-spinner had a man stationed in the deep and challenged Virat Kohli to go for the shot.
The in-form batsman duly obliged as he brought out the slog sweep. He, however, could not time the ball well and was caught near the boundary by Donovan Ferreira in the deep. And as Ferreira took the catch, Virat Kohli was absolutely furious with himself for throwing away his wicket. The RCB opener was seen letting out a huge roar as he made his way towards the dressing room.
Kohli departed after scoring 33 runs off 24 balls with the help of three fours and a six. Talking about the game, RCB were on 155 for 6 in the 19th over at the time of writing this report. With more than an over remaining, the Bengaluru-based outfit will be hoping to post a 170-plus total.
The winner of the ongoing game will be qualifying for the second qualifier and will face Sunrisers Hyderabad for a place in the title decider against Kolkata Knight Riders. On the other hand, the losing team will be knocked out of IPL 2024.
