The Sawai Mansingh Stadium in Jaipur is one of the very few venues in the IPL where batsmen usually struggle to play the big shots regularly. The venue has been hosting the IPL since the inaugural season in 2008 and has witnessed 200-plus totals just thrice.
Two of the 200-plus totals were scored in the same match when Sunrisers Hyderabad chased down 214 against the home side in 2023. The 217 runs scored by SRH in that match is both the highest team total and the highest successful run chase at the venue.
Even last season, when 200-plus totals were quite common, the venue did not witness a single innings where any team managed to reach the 200-run mark. So, the batsmen will have to work hard to make an impact with the bat while the bowlers will look to exploit the conditions.
Conclusion:
The pitch is unlikely to favour the batsmen and bowlers are likely to make a bigger impact in the upcoming game. As a result, the RR vs RCB match is likely to be a thrilling contest.
