Nothing has been going the CSK captain's way as miseries continue to pile one on top of the other. He dropped a sitter off Anshul Kamboj's bowling and handed Sunil Narine a massive lifeline.

Chennai Super Kings skipper Ruturaj Gaikwad has been having a miserable season with the Super Kings. His batting form has been a major concern for the franchise after having missed out on runs despite opening the innings on five occasions.

To add to the misery, the CSK captain has looked clueless on the field when his bowlers have been trashed for runs. This time, he has missed an absolute sitter despite having the reputation of one of the safest fielders on the field for the Super Kings.

Ruturaj Gaikwad adds to his miseries, dropping an absolute sitter

The Chennai Super Kings had already taken some good control of the game, with Anshul Kamboj striking with the new ball in his very first over of the game. He dismissed the dangerous Finn Allen, who also continues his string of low scores.

Sunil Narine was promoted to open the innings alongside Allen, as Abhishek Nayar might be looking to use his striking ability early within the powerplay. The West Indian batter got going with a six, but then top-edged a ball towards the mid-off fielder.

Skipper Ruturaj Gaikwad stood in that position, and he dropped what could be called the easiest of catches for any international cricketer. However, a lack of confidence might be the factor, as Gaikwad dropped the absolute sitter, denying the second wicket to Kamboj. Sunil Narine was given an early lifeline by the skipper.

Khaleel strikes as Sunil Narine departs in the next over

Khaleel Ahmed, the left-handed bowling star for Chennai Super Kings, has been doing wonders with the new ball. The variety he produces with the new ball is truly exceptional, and the skipper backed him for a third over in the match against KKR.

Khaleel bowled two economical overs to start the innings and then bowled a perfect yorker to Sunil Narine as he followed him when Narine attempted to make some room through the off-side.

Narine edged the ball despite a full swing of the bat and was caught at the short third man region by the fielder. Gurjapneet Singh also did not make any mistake this time, and he judged his catch to perfection. It marked a moment of relief for the skipper, Ruturaj Gaikwad.

CSK continues awful outing on the field at Chepauk

The Chennai Super Kings continued their stressful outing at the MA Chidambaram Stadium, a ground that was formerly known as their most invaluable den. Ruturaj Gaikwad started off by dropping an absolute sitter, and the fielders followed their captain's way.

Dewald Brevis, the South African youngster who is often known as one of the most acrobatic fielders in the world, also missed a catch, but not a very easy one. Angkrish Raghuvanshi top-edged one towards the mid-wicket fence, and Brevis covered a lot of ground to reach the ball.

However, he leapt into the air to grab that ball out of thin air, and the ball hit his palm and pounced over the mid-wicket boundary for a six. Raghuvanshi has also been handed a lifeline by the CSK fielder.
