On Sunday (September 3rd), Aiden Markram-led South Africa locked horns against Mitchell Marsh’s Australia in the third and final T20I match of the three-match series. However, the visitors won the match by five wickets which helped the Aussies to whitewash the Proteas in the 20-over format.

South Africa won the toss and opted to bat first. In the first innings, the Proteas gave a target of 191 runs after Donovan Ferreira scored the highest run among other batsmen and played a knock of 48 runs off just 21 balls with a strike rate of 228.57.

Reeza Hendricks, the South African opener also scored 42 runs in 30 balls with a strike rate of 140.00.

In the second essay, Travis Head shined bright for the Australians and successfully chased the target after scoring 91 runs from 48 balls with a strike rate of 189.58.

Josh Inglis, the wicketkeeper scored 42 runs from 22 balls with a strike rate of 190.91 and helped Australia to end the SA vs AUS T20I series on a good note.

However, during the SA vs AUS match the most chatty point was when a South African fan gave an autograph on the match ball when it reached him in the stands. Later, after signing the ball the fan threw the ball into the ground and the match was continued later.

The incident took ball during the last ball of the 15th over in the first innings of the SA vs AUS match, when Donovan Ferreira slammed a boundary and the ball reached the crowd.

Hashim Amla, the former South African player who was in the commentary box during the incident that took place in the SA Vs AUS match. Amla said that he had already picked his Man of the Match and applauded the man for how he made a name for himself.

“I’ve picked my man of the match already. Kudos to him, he took his opportunity and he’s made a name for himself,” Hashim Amla said.

In the upcoming days, Australia will take on South Africa in the five-match ODI series and the first game will be played on Thursday (September 7th) at Mangaung Oval in Bloemfontein.
