Ahead of the IPL 2026 final between RCB and Gujarat Titans on May 31 at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad, Sachin Tendulkar shared an appreciation post for Bhuvneshwar Kumar on his social media handle. In the video, the legendary batter said that the biggest reason behind this success is a subtle but smart change in Bhuvneshwar's bowling.
The Master Blaster explained that the pacer has focused on bowling straighter lines and using wobble-seam deliveries instead of depending heavily on big inswingers and outswingers, and this variation has made him much harder to read for the batters.

Sachin Tendulkar said in the video, “Bhuvaneshwar Kumar has been bowling really well this season. The previous season, when Bhuvi was bowling, he had a long outswinger or inswinger. He has developed this variation; it is a conscious decision of his, but he has been bowling as straight as possible. When a bowler wants to bowl a long outswinger or inswinger, the seam is always pointing towards the 1st or 2nd slip. Sometimes it is for the outswinger.”
The former Indian captain continued, “And when you want to inswing, the seam goes towards the leg slip of a right-hander. And the wrist position also changes. But this season, if you look at Bhuvi's seam, I think it is a wobbly seam. So, when a wobbly seam comes, many times the batsman doesn't know whether the ball is going to fall out or in. And that is what Bhuvi has been doing. He has been very, very accurate if you see. His lines have been very, very tight.”

Tendulkar, who is considered one of the greatest batters ever, has pointed out that batters are often unsure whether the ball will move away, come back in, or continue straight after pitching, and that uncertainty has given Bhuvneshwar a huge advantage throughout the IPL 2026.
The former Indian captain also mentioned accuracy as another key factor. He said that the combination of tight lines and unpredictable movement has worked brilliantly for the RCB bowler. Tendulkar added, “Off the stump or at the most towards the 4th stump. And from there he tries to bowl a straight ball with a wobbly seam.
And that gain either goes out or comes in. So that becomes a little difficult to pick because the signal is less from the wrist. And in a wobbly seam, many times when the seam lands like this, the ball goes out. And when it lands like this, it comes in or stays straight. So that has been Bhuvi's success mantra for this season. He has been bowling exceedingly well.”
