Sacking incoming!! Suryakumar Yadav admits fear of Shubman Gill becoming T20I captain

Indian T20I skipper Suryakumar Yadav has dominated the shortest format of the game and was handed the T20I captaincy following Rohit Sharma's retirement.
He has been unbeatable in the format, despite which his role as Indian skipper has been constantly threatened by Shubman Gill's presence. The Indian skipper has finally responded to such claims.
Suryakumar Yadav has been a success story since he was appointed the Indian skipper in the shortest format of the game. The 35-year-old cricketer recently won the Asia Cup with the Indian side and is now named the skipper in the upcoming Australia tour.
The T20I leg of the India vs Australia series will begin on the 29th of November and is scheduled to end on the 9th of November. The 5-match T20I series will see Shubman Gill as the vice-captain of the side. Gill has been appointed as India's skipper in the other two formats.

Suryakumar Yadav, the Indian skipper, despite his undeniable form, has admitted that he is not immune to fear when it comes to the future of his career. Shubman Gill has been pinned as India's future all-format skipper after Gautam Gambhir cleared his strategy behind a single skipper across all formats.
“I am very happy for him that he has become captain in two formats. He has done really well,” Suryakumar said at Express Adda on Friday.
Suryakumar said that he and Gill share a strong bond on and off the field. “I won’t lie, everyone feels that fear. But, it is the kind of fear that keeps you motivated. The camaraderie between me and him (Shubman Gill) is amazing off the field and on it. I know what kind of player and human he is. So it just motivates me to do well but I am happy for him.”
He has ascertained that it is this kind of fear that keeps him motivated to improve, and he is very happy that Shubman Gill is the reason.

Suryakumar Yadav made his debut in international cricket aged 31. He made his batting debut in the second match against England and smashed 57 off 31 balls. The first ball he faced in international cricket was hit for a six. He has brought forward the same reference, claiming that had he been a man fearing for the future, he would not have been playing such an audacious brand of cricket.
“If I were someone who got affected by things like these and thought so much about it, I wouldn’t have played my first ball in international cricket the way I did. So I have left that fear behind a long time back," SKY took some pride in explaining his audacity in the game.
"I believe if I am working hard on myself, following things that have to be followed, working very hard and being honest to myself, the rest will be taken care of," he added.
Suryakumar Yadav is yet to receive the Asia Cup, locked in Dubai
After Suryakumar Yadav led the Indian side to win the Asia Cup 2025, which was Suryakumar's first-ever multiformat tournament win, they were usurped from the trophy as Mohsin Naqvi, the Pakistan Chief, walked out with the trophy. This took place when the Indian team denied taking it at the hands of the ACC Chairman.
Mohsin Naqvi has been adamant about not handing the trophy to India until they visit the ACC Headquarters to receive it at the hands of Naqvi. The trophy is locked in Dubai, and the Indian team has yet to receive it after nearly 3 weeks have passed by.
