The 29-year-old Pakistan National Cricket Team opening batsman, Sahibzada Farhan, has created a shocking record by playing brilliantly against Jasprit Bumrah in the Asia Cup 2025.
Sahibzada Farhan and Jasprit Bumrah also exchanged some words during the high-voltage encounter between India and Pakistan in the final of the Asia Cup 2025 at the Dubai International Stadium.
Sahibzada Farhan takes Jasprit Bumrah to the cleaners
Farhan, who plays for Islamabad United in the Pakistan Super League (PSL), is among the rarest batters in the world who have dominated against Jasprit Bumrah.
Bumrah is regarded as the best bowler in the world currently, and the best batters of modern-day cricket, including Joe Root, Steve Smith, Kane Williamson, and others, have found it hard to deal with him.
However, so far, Sahibzada Farhan has not faced any such difficulty while facing Bumrah and has taken the premier pacer to cleaners since the very first match of the Asia Cup 2025 between India and Pakistan.
He hit two sixes against Jasprit Bumrah and became the first-ever Pakistan batter in history to smash a maximum off the star Indian pacer. In the Asia Cup final as well, Sahibzada Farhan launched an attack on Bumrah.
He even smashed a six against the pacer and became the first batter to hit three sixes off Jasprit Bumrah in T20Is.
Most sixes against Jasprit Bumrah in T20Is:
3 - Sahibzada Farhan*
2 - Kieron Pollard
2 - Martin Guptil
2 - Lendl Simmons
2 - Cameron Green
2 - Elton Chigumbura
Overall, Farhan has slammed 51 runs against Bumrah in the Asia Cup and has batted with a strike rate of 150 against him. However, against all the other bowlers in the Asia Cup, he has scored runs at a strike rate of 108. Meanwhile, things got quite heated between the duo after the end of the 4th over, and they were seen exchanging some words.

Broadcasters' delight - Aakash Chopra on India vs Pakistan final in Asia Cup
Speaking on ESPNCricinfo ahead of the Asia Cup 2025 final, Aakash Chopra said that the two arch-rivals - India and Pakistan - clashing in the summit clash is a delight for broadcasters. He elaborated:
First, to begin with, I think broadcasters' delight because the Asia Cup was always designed in a fashion that Pakistan and India could play each other as many times as possible. But it always was the case that they were like one shot of that because either India or Pakistan would crash out in the league stage and they will never reach the finals.
"But 2025 seems to be the year of firsts. A lot of new things have happened. Therefore, this final also. But see, there has been a lot of surround sound. There is no doubt. But I would say temperature has come down a little from the first game from an Indian standpoint.
"I think the first game for India was a big one because it was at the highest, that surround sound that you're talking about. It had peaked already and post that there is some amount of because India won first time, India won the second time and suddenly there is a little more, I mean, I won't use the word that's coming to my mind, but people are now okay with India playing Pakistan because there was a time when India, people are not okay only. But now you're in the finals. Now the only thing will be and people will not be okay that you have won two and you lose one."
