Sai Sudharsan, on Sunday (May 18), further enhanced his reputation by scoring a stunning century for Gujarat Titans against Delhi Capitals in the ongoing IPL 2025.

The Titans had their task cut out after a century from KL Rahul powered Delhi Capitals to a big total of 199/3 in the allotted 20 overs. However, Sai Sudharsan played one of the best knocks of his career to power his side to a thumping 10-wicket victory. The victory also sealed a playoffs spot for the Titans and has bolstered their chances of finishing in the top two.

The left-handed batsman led the Titans' charge with the bat right from the start while his partner and captain, Shubman Gill, was compelled to play second fiddle. At the end of the powerplay, the Titans raced away to 59/0 with Sai Sudharsan scoring 44 of those runs.

As the game wore on, both the batters matched each other shot for shot. However, only Sudharsan managed to complete his century while Gill finished his innings on an unbeaten 93. On the other hand, Sudharsan scored an unbeaten 108 runs.

Ajay Jadeja heaps praise on Sai Sudharsan:

Former India batsman Ajay Jadeja has heaped praise on Sai Sudharsan for his latest exploit with the bat. Not only that, Jadeja also compared Sudharsan to Gill and called him a better batsman than the India star. He pointed out that Sudharsan's batting has been risk-free as compared to Gill's in IPL 2025.

"Sai Sudharsan has outshone the future India captain. His batting is pleasing to the eye. It is not like he was only ahead of Shubman in the match against Delhi Capitals. He has looked a better batter than Gill in the previous matches as well. His batting is risk-free as compared to Shubman’s," Jadeja said on Star Sports.

"Sai is playing with a more accomplished cricketer, who plays regularly for the Indian cricket team. Gill was not able to time the ball against Delhi and needed powerful hits to get going, but it was not the case with Sai, who looked at ease," he added.

Meanwhile, Sudharsan is currently leading the race for the Orange Cap. His century against Delhi made him the first batsman this season to reach the 600-run mark. In 12 games this season, Sudharsan has scored 617 runs with the help of 1 century and 5 fifties.

Gill has been in brilliant form too this season. He is only behind Sudharsan in the Orange Cap race. The right-handed batsman has scored 601 runs in 12 games with the help of 6 fifties.
