Young Pakistani left-handed batter Saim Ayub has made an unwanted record in international cricket, as he has scored 6 ducks in his last 20 T20 internationals. No other batter in the world has scored more ducks in a calendar year than Saim Ayub.
Pakistan, despite its loss against India in the first Super-4 match, bounced back in the competition with a terrific win against Sri Lanka. They are currently playing against Bangladesh, and the fixture is crucial for both teams, as the winner will be the team to square off against India in the Asia Cup finals.

Saim Ayub has the most Ducks as a batter in a calendar year
The Pakistan left-hand batter Saim Ayub entered his name in the history books by equalling the record of scoring the most T20I ducks in a calendar year. The youngster from Karachi has already scored three ducks in a row in the Asia Cup group stage games.
In the recent game against Bangladesh, which was a decisive game from Pakistan's point of view, the batter has once again disappointed their management. Ayub has failed both as an opener and as a no. 3 batters in the competition.

The 23-year-old cricketer has scored three ducks in the group stage games from Group A, and now has scored his fourth duck against Bangladesh in the final Super-4 game. He got out for a three-ball duck on the Thursday encounter.
Overall, in 20 matches, the Pakistan batter has 6 ducks. Saim got out for a golden duck against Oman and then against India. However, he scored further ducks against the UAE and now against Bangladesh as well.
In the list of Pakistan batters, Saim now has the second-most ducks, trailing Umar Akmal. Umar played in 84 matches and ended his career with 10 ducks. Saim, on the other hand, has 9 ducks from 47 matches.
Pakistan doomed by the loss of early wickets against Bangladesh
In a must-win game in the Asia Cup, Pakistan lost the early wickets of opener Sahibzada Farhan and first-down batter Saim Ayub. With two wickets in two overs of the powerplay, they were already on the back foot.
To add to their concern, Rishad Hossain, the leg-spinner, handed Pakistan further trouble with the wickets of Fakhar Zaman and Hussain Talat. The skipper was also soon dismissed off Mustafizur Rahman's second spell.
Shaheen Afridi, the lower-order batter, has shown some remarkable ability with the bat and hence has been promoted up the order in this game. He has been sent ahead of the previous match's star finisher, Mohammad Nawaz.
