Saim Ayub produced one of the unbelievable moments during the Pakistan Super League 2026 (PSL 2026) match between Quetta Gladiators and Hyderabad Kingsmen at the Gaddafi Stadium in Lahore on Sunday, March 29.
The moment fans got to see on the third ball of the 18 overs. The Quetta Gladiators batter Tom Curran swung hard at a short ball from Riley Meredith. It looked like an easy boundary, but Saim Ayub didn’t let that happen at the Gaddafi Stadium.

Saim Ayub's stunning diving catch ends Tom Curran’s fiery knock
In the next over, Ayub once again stunned one and all with his fielding efforts, and this time, also, Curran was at the receiving end. As the England all-rounder was hitting big shots, Akif Javed sent a full ball on the middle and leg stumps.
Curran moved his front leg out of the way and tried to hit it in the air towards the leg side. The shot went high, and it looked like it might fall safely. But, yet again, Saim had different plans. He ran a long distance from the deep, kept his eyes on the ball, and then dived forward at the last moment.
Saim caught the ball just a few inches above the ground. Thanks to his remarkable efforts, Tom was sent back to the pavilion after scoring 31 runs off 18 balls, featuring one boundary and three sixes.
Saim Ayub falls to brutal Alzarri Joseph delivery
However, the Hyderabad Kingsmen opener failed to deliver with the bat and perished on the fourth ball in the ongoing PSL 2026. Alzarri Joseph made a strong comeback with pace and aggression, clocking 136.3 km/h and hitting the deck hard after giving away a couple of boundaries to Saim.
The ball was short of length and bounced more than Ayub expected. The young Pakistani opener tried to bend back and guide the ball towards the off-side behind square. But he couldn’t get into the right position to play the shot properly. Because of the extra bounce, the ball brushed his glove.
The ball went straight to the wicketkeeper Ben McDermott, who took an easy catch, sending Saim back to the dugout for 8 runs off 4 balls as his team was chasing 175 runs to win the 5th PSL 2026 match in Lahore. Hyderabad Kingsmen have already lost three wickets for just 35 runs.
