Pakistan, led by Salman Ali Agha, wrapped up the three-match T20I series with a four-wicket win over South Africa in the final match at the Gaddafi Stadium in Lahore. Former Pakistan skipper Babar Azam played a key role in the victory, smashing a half-century that guided the national team to a 2-1 series triumph.
South Africa posted 140 after being asked to bat first by Pakistan skipper Salman Ali Agha. In reply, Pakistan completed the chase with six wickets in hand and an over remaining. Babar Azam scored 68 runs off 47 balls with the help of nine boundaries. The home team bounced back after losing the first game.
South Africa Put Under Early Pressure by Pakistan Bowlers
Pakistan’s decision to bowl first paid off, as Salman Ali Agha’s side reduced South Africa to 0–2 inside the first over. The visitors were under pressure immediately, with Shaheen Shah Afridi marking his return by removing Quinton de Kock and Lhuan-dre Pretorius for ducks.
Reeza Hendricks and young Dewald Brevis then tried to steady the innings. They added a 38-run partnership off 41 balls for the third wicket. Brevis was dismissed by debutant Usman Tariq in the eighth over. The right-handed batter scored 21 runs off 22 balls, with the help of two sixes.
South Africa’s struggles continued when Mohammad Nawaz bowled Matthew Breetzke for just one, leaving the Proteas reeling at 42/4 in the ninth over.

Every Player Has Been Assigned a Clear Role - Salman Ali Agha
Salman Ali Agha stated that the team management has given each player a clear role in recent months. He said that defining responsibilities allowed the side to produce back-to-back strong performances. Agha added that with a busy schedule, not everyone can play every match.
"Good teams, when they perform well, they back it up — and we did that,” said Agha at the post-match presentation.
“Over the last 3-4 months, every player has been assigned a clear role, and now it’s all about execution. You just have to do what the game demands, and we’ve done that in the last two matches,” he added.
“We believe in rotation because there are a lot of games coming up. It’s difficult for everyone to play every match, and I’m happy that our bench strength is improving,” Agha stated.
