After Pakistan's flop show in the ICC T20 World Cup against tough opposition like India and now against England, the Pakistan fans have gone berserk as they have turned to hurling abuses at not only the players but also their families. Captain Salman Ali Agha's wife's Instagram story has shed light on such an incident.

Pakistan retained Salman Ali Agha as their captain after the team had faced three defeats to India during the Asia Cup 2025. This decision was made with the belief that he is a fine leader since he led them to the finals, and they finished as runners-up, despite the three losses.

However, coming into the ICC T20 World Cup, Salman Ali Agha's strategies have been questioned from time to time. Finally, after the England loss, Pakistani fans seemed to have lost their faith in their skipper and are out of patience.

Salman Ali Agha's family targeted by Pakistani fans after Super-8 defeat to England

Pakistan were ruling the shorter format when they hosted South Africa, Sri Lanka, Zimbabwe and Australia before coming into the T20 World Cup. They also had a series scheduled in Sri Lanka just a month before the World Cup began on the same tracks.

Moreover, Pakistan are playing their games only in Sri Lanka, with the two grounds in Colombo and the one at Pallekele. Despite all advantages, Pakistan have choked every time they have clashed against a stronger opposition.

First losing to India by a humiliating margin in the group stage, and then to England at a crucial juncture of the T20 World Cup Super 8s. Salman Agha has now been targeted by the Pakistani fans for not having led the team well.

However, it is obvious for a captain to take responsibility for a team's defeats. But what does not seem to comply with the current situation is the abuse his family has to face from the Pakistani fans. Pakistani fans have gone to the extent of targeting Salman Ali Agha's family back in Pakistan.

Pakistan's captain's wife shames Pakistani fans

Amid the ICC T20 World Cup troubles, Pakistan skipper Salman Ali Agha's wife, Sabbamanzer Salman, who is a known barrister by profession, has sent shockwaves on the internet with her Instagram story.

In her story, which she uploaded early morning on the 25th of February, she wrote, "Sending me or my innocent son abuse is not going to win you the World Cup, Pakistani fans."

This clearly stated how frustrated she was with all the bad remarks made to her and her son, which is an unacceptable form of disrespect for a player's family who represents the nation internationally and makes them proud every time they step on the field to play. Wins and losses are part of the game, but the sportsmanship spirit and the respect should stay intact.

Can Pakistan still make it to the semi-finals after losing to England?

Pakistan are down with having secured just a single point, which came against New Zealand after the match was washed out by rain. The defeat to England now leaves them with one game against Sri Lanka, which is a must-win for them.

For Pakistan, run rate is a later concern; they hope that both Sri Lanka and England can defeat New Zealand, which would take Pakistan straight off to the semis. However, if New Zealand manages to win their game against Sri Lanka, then Pakistan would have to pin their hopes on England to defeat them and then tally on the net run rate.

New Zealand are second in the group with a point and two matches left to be played.
