A timely strike for the Rajasthan Royals (RR). The experienced bowler of the team, Sandeep Sharma, stunned Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) skipper Rajat Patidar.
In the dying moment of the first innings, when the batting side was looking to accelerate their run rate with the help of their captain, Rajat Patidar, Sandeep Sharma put on a red signal. The middle-order, well-set Rajat Patidar dismissed for 63 off 40 balls.
This is now Sandeep Sharma has got the wicket of RCB captain Rajat Patidar
The full-length leg cutter from Sandeep Sharma got the job done for the Rajasthan Royals. The batter cleared his front to whip the ball away for a big shot, but could not place the bat under the ball properly. He generated the elevation but not the distance. Donovan Ferreira took the catch at the deep mid-wicket.

Without the effort of the skipper, the Royal Challengers Bengaluru could have been in a vulnerable state against the Rajasthan Royals as they were struggling in most of their batting. On their home ground, RR bowlers picked up wickets in crucial moments.
Rajat Patidar provided RCB the much-needed support in the middle
The call of the wickets started with the departure of Phil Salt, who was dismissed for a golden duck against a jaffa from the pacer Jofra Archer. Devdutt Padikkal, Krunal Pandya, and Jitesh Sharma also lost their scalps without showing any significant defence against the Rajasthan bowlers. After an aggressive 32-run knock by Virat Kohli, it was Rajat Patidar who restricted the opposing bowlers from taking quick wickets.
With Romario Shepherd, the Indian batter created an impactful partnership that not only bolstered the run rate, but also took the team to a respectable total. With four 4s and four 6s, Patidar scored 63 runs from 40 balls with a strike rate of 157.5. As Patidar was playing an anchor role, the other batters felt free to play big shots.
Romario Shepherd and Venkatesh Iyer played blistering knocks
Romario Shepherd scored 22 runs with a strike rate of 200.00. RCB made another brilliant move by utilising Venkatesh Iyer as an impact player to add extra firepower in their batting in the slog overs. Iyer's late cameo took the team total to 201 runs in 20 overs. Iyer remained not out for 29, playing 15 balls with a couple of maximums and one 4.
The Rajasthan Royals' bowling line-up did a pretty decent job tonight. They scored some important wickets in crucial moments of the match. Jofra Archer, Ravi Bishnoi, and Brijesh Sharma took a brace against the defending champion, Royal Challengers Bengaluru, tonight. The way Rajat Patidar and Co recovered from the early blows, the batters deserve the credit.
