Former Indian cricketer Sanjay Manjrekar slammed Bangladesh senior batters Shakib Al Hasan and Litton Das for their batting during the second Test. Sanjay Manjrekar criticized Shakib Al Hasan and Litton for their poor shot selection in Bangladesh's first innings in the ongoing Test match against India.

Bangladesh resumed the fourth day's play at 107/3 on Monday, September 30, after two washed-out days in Kanpur. Pace bowling spearhead Jasprit Bumrah removed Mushfiqur Rahim in the sixth over of the first session. Rahim scored just 11 runs off 32 balls before being dismissed by Bumrah's peach.

Wicketkeeper batter Litton Das came to the crease after Rahim's dismissal in the first innings. Litton started his innings with glorious boundaries. However, he was dismissed for 13 runs by Mohammed Siraj. Das danced down the track to hit the delivery over the infield, but Rohit Sharma took a flying catch.

Bangladesh was in a bit of bother at 148/5 after the dismissal of Litton Das. Veteran all-rounder Shakib Al Hasan came to the crease in the No. 7 position. Shakib added 22 runs with Mominul Haque for the sixth wicket. Shakib miscued a lofted shot off Ravichandran Ashwin and got out for only 9 runs.

Following the dismissal of Shakib, the Bangladesh team collapsed to 170-6. Notably, the left-handed batter played an aggressive shot for a boundary on the previous delivery. He attempted another attacking shot, but Ashwin tossed it up in the air, getting the ball to dip sharply and beat him in flight.

Shameful Application From Bangladesh Senior Batters - Sanjay Manjrekar

Sanjay Manjrekar took to X (formerly known as Twitter) to criticize Litton Das and Shakib Al Hasan for their poor shot selection and described their performance as "shameful."

"Shameful application from Bangladesh senior batters, Liton & Shakib," Sanjay Manjrekar wrote.

Before the lunch break, Bangladesh reached 205/6, with Mominul Haque (102 runs off 176 balls) and Mehidy Hasan Miraz (6 runs off 26 balls) at the crease. Ravichandran Ashwin and Akash Deep took two wickets each in the Bangladesh first innings. The visitors aim to bat as long as possible to avoid a loss.

Team India Leads Two-Match Test Series 1-0

India leads the ongoing two-match Test series 1-0 after securing a 280-run victory over Bangladesh in Chennai. Ravichandran Ashwin, Rishabh Pant, and Shubman Gill scored centuries in the opening Test match. Ashwin also took six wickets with the ball and earned the "Player of the Match" award.

After the ongoing Test series, India and Bangladesh will compete in a three-match T20I series starting on October 6. The upcoming T20I series will kick off at the New Madhavrao Scindia Cricket Stadium in Gwalior, followed by two matches in Delhi and Hyderabad on October 9 and 12, respectively.
