Rajasthan Royals (RR) head coach Rahul Dravid has provided a massive update about the fitness of Sanju Samson ahead of the game against Mumbai Indians (MI) in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025. He said that they are assessing him day by day as they don't want to rush things.
Rajasthan Royals are all set to lock horns with Mumbai Indians in their next game of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025. The game between the two teams will be taking place at the Sawai Mansingh Stadium in Jaipur on Thursday, 1st May.

Ahead of the match, the Rajasthan Royals are mulling over the fitness of skipper Samson. The keeper-batter faced a rib injury while batting against Delhi Capitals and was taken off the field in between his innings. His injury was more serious than expected, as he hasn't featured in the league since that game.
There have been reports that have claimed that Samson is recovering slowly and has been taking part in all the training sessions of the Rajasthan Royals. Although he has been practising well but the management is against rushing him and is allowing him all the time to recover.
With a game against Mthe umbai Indians around the corner, there have been a lot of speculations about whether the keeper-batter will be fit for the clash. However, head coach Rahul Dravid has come up with a fitness update about him.

Rahul Dravid mentioned that Sanju Samson has been recovering well, but was quick to quip that side strain can be tricky sometimes. He added that they won't rush things as they don't want the injury to trouble him.
"Sanju is recovering well. We have to take it day by day. He has a side strain, and sometimes it can be tricky. We don't want to rush, so it doesn't cause him any trouble in the long run. We are taking care of it in a day-by-day approach," Dravid said during a media round table facilitated by Star Sports, as quoted by MyKhel.

In the absence of Sanju Samson, the Rajasthan Royals are being captained by Riyan Parag. The all-rounder has been doing a decent job but would need to come up with an even better effort, as the franchise is having a tough time in the league.
In terms of batter, 14-year-old Vaibhav Suryavanshi has been playing in place of Sanju Samson. The youngster set the stage on fire in the last game against the Gujarat Titans as he slammed the second-fastest century in the history of the league.
Sanju Samson has so far played seven matches this season. He has amassed 224 runs at an average of 37.33 and a strike rate of 143.59. His contributions include one half-century, 23 fours, and 10 sixes.
