India National Cricket Team batter Sanju Samson revealed Ravi Shastri's advice to him following his century in the first T20I against the South Africa National Cricket Team. He said the former coach of the team told him ahead of the Bangladesh game in Hyderabad that he needed to get a big century.

After struggling to make an impact on the international cricket stage, Sanju Samson has finally shown his true potential on the international stage. The keeper-batter has made the opening position his own as since the last two games, he hasn't put a foot wrong.

Sanju Samson became the first-ever Indian cricketer to hit two back-to-back centuries in T20I cricket

Samson, who has been given the opening spot in the T20Is, has repaid the faith of the management. He set the stage on fire in the last game of the three-match series against the Bangladesh National Cricket Team. The keeper-batter slammed a magnificent century and earned huge praises.

Samson, however, didn't stop there as he made a similar kind of impact in the first game of the series against the South Africa National Cricket Team. He made a mockery of the Proteas bowler at the Kingsmead in Durban and put his team in a dominating position.

Samson slammed a terrific century and became the first-ever Indian cricketer to hit two back-to-back centuries in T20I cricket. He slammed his second hundred in the format and made sure that India took a 1-0 lead in the four-match series.

Samson ended with an inning of 107 runs off 50 balls. He batted with a strike rate of 214 and also hit 7 fours and 10 sixes in his innings. He hit his ton in just 47 balls and slammed the fastest ton by an Indian batter against South Africa.

He was like, 'Sanju! You just need that one big hundred - Sanju Samson on Ravi Shastri

After the game, Samson revealed how Ravi Shastri in Hyderabad told him that he needed to get one big hundred to get things back on track. He said that he is glad that he hit two back-to-back tons and is happy for the entire team. Speaking in a video posted by BCCI, he explained:

"I remember him talking to me before the Bangladesh game in Hyderabad. He was like, 'Sanju! You just need that one big hundred. I am telling you. And you will be fine.' I think we are happy it happened and I am happy for everyone."

I think it is too early to feel how special it is - Sanju Samson

Sanju Samson further said that the feeling of getting back-to-back centuries hasn't sunk in yet for him. He admitted that there isn't enough time in T20Is and batting with intent has helped him. He elaborated:

"I think it is too early to feel how special it is. Maybe if you ask me tomorrow, I can tell you how excited I am and happy I am,"

"There is not enough time in T20s to have a look and go at it. So atleast, the intent really helped. We definitely are the world champions."

Sanju Samson will be next seen in action when India will take on South Africa National Cricket Team in the second T20I. The match will be played on Sunday (10th November).
