Sanju Samson dismissed Shubman Gill with a stylish stumping down the leg side as CSK fans see glimpses of their veteran gloveman MS Dhoni in their new wicketkeeper.
Chennai Super Kings had a very unconvincing start to their innings, with their top order, including Sanju Samson, collapsing in no time. After the fall of early wickets, skipper Ruturaj Gaikwad added stability to the side with a splendid batting innings.
Coming up with the ball, the CSK bowlers could not unsettle the solid GT openers, who came off a massive 100+ partnership in the last game. However, Shubman Gill took charge this time, unlike the last game.
Spectacular work behind the stumps from Sanju Samson; Shubman Gill dismissed after a confident start
Shubman Gill handed his team a solid start alongside Sai Sudharsan, the centurion from the previous game. Having taken the responsibility to attack, Gill scored 33 off just 23 balls in the 58-run stand for the first wicket.
With just 100 more runs needed, CSK were desperate for a breakthrough and introduced Noor Ahmad into the attack. Noor bowled probably one of the worst balls of the innings down the leg, and Gill missed out on a flick shot.
Sanju Samson did some extraordinary work behind the stumps as he whipped the bails in a flash while Gill slightly raised his foot in the air. This was lightning quick from the CSK keeper, showing glimpses of the legendary gloveman in yellow.

In-form Sai Sudharsan stands in way between CSK and 2 points
Sai Sudharsan, the Gujarat Titans batter, has been in sheer good form in this edition of the IPL. He has crafted some beautiful innings for the Titans, though not always in winning causes, unlike the previous season where he played more match-winning innings.
Sudharsan, who comes off a magnificent hundred at the Chinnaswamy in the last game, has returned to his original home ground in Chennai's MA Chidambaram Stadium and is backing the century with another blinder of an innings.
Having scored a half-century, he is timing the ball to perfection, and he has also looked exceptionally dependable against any bowling attack, especially in such small chases, which do not need players to go and attack every ball bowled at them.
CSK and GT look for fourth win in IPL 2026 at Chepauk
Currently placed in the fifth and seventh position, respectively, the two competing teams, the Chennai Super Kings and the Gujarat Titans, have won three out of their seven games this season.
They are both at the MA Chidambaram Stadium and are in the quest for their fourth win of the season. A fourth win would not take CSK any way higher, but they would remain in the fifth position with 8 points after eight games.
Titans, on the other hand, will take a leap from the seventh to the fifth position if they manage to win this match, which at the time of writing looks well within their winning reach.
