Sarfaraz Khan to Be Dropped from the Playing XI for the Second Test in Pune?
Sarfaraz celebrated his maiden Test hundred by jumping in the air and removing his helmet. He scored his first international century with a backfoot punch for four off Tim Southee, finishing with 150 runs from 195 balls, including 18 fours and 3 sixes. Sarfaraz was the top scorer for India in the second innings.
The Mumbai batter formed a 177-run partnership for the fourth wicket with Rishabh Pant and also had a 136-run stand with Virat Kohli on the third day. However, the Men in Blue suffered an eight-wicket loss in Bengaluru. The team will aim to bounce back and secure a win in the second Test of the series.
Sarfaraz was included in India's playing XI for the Bengaluru Test after Shubman Gill was sidelined with neck and shoulder pain. He made the most of his opportunity, putting pressure on the selectors to keep him in the squad for the upcoming second Test, which is set to be played in Pune starting on October 24.
