The Mumbai batter had made his long-awaited Test debut earlier this year against England at home, but he couldn't cement his place in India's Test side. And he took the Test snub personally. The right-handed batter has lost nearly 10 kilos in June alone, and now, a total of 17 kilos trimmed as he eyes a sensational comeback in the national team. Notably, Sarfaraz’s father, Naushad Khan, recently revealed that the batter even gave up his favorite chicken and mutton biryani to help get in better shape. Now, only broccoli, carrots, cucumber, salad, and green vegetable salad, along with grilled fish, grilled chicken, boiled chicken, and boiled egg, are part of the Mumbai batter’s diet.

Sarfaraz Khan’s frustrating Test journey continues
Before the ongoing Test series, India and England had played an unofficial Test series, and Sarfaraz Khan made the most of the opportunity. Sarfaraz smashed a solid 92-run knock off just 119 balls in the first match for India A against England Lions at Canterbury.
His innings included 13 boundaries. Sarfaraz made his Test debut in February 2024 against England. So far, he has played six Test matches for India, scoring 371 runs at an average of 37.10.
However, despite being in the squad, he didn’t get a single chance to play during the five-match Test series in Australia. He last played for India during the third Test against New Zealand at Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai.
