Sarfaraz Khan again proved himself as he smashed a scintillating ton against the England Lions in just 89 deliveries. He played a brilliant innings for India A after his team lost four quick wickets under just 22 runs and then he came and delivered for the team once again in First-Class cricket. Sarfaraz Khan was not included in India’s squad for the Test series against England.

Currently, India is playing England in the first Test of the five-match series which is being played at the Rajiv Gandhi International Cricket Stadium in Hyderabad, and on the other hand, India A is playing England Lions in Ahmedabad. Sarfaraz Khan and Devdutt Paddikkal both have scored a century and India A is leading by 161 runs as of the latest update.

Sarfaraz Khan smashed 11 fours and four sixes to complete his century in just 89 deliveries and has been in phenomenal touch in First-Class cricket. He has a terrific record in his First-Class career and has been waiting for his maiden national team call-up for a long time now. Sarfaraz Khan currently is a regular member of the India A team and plays the Ranji Trophy for Mumbai.

Sarfaraz Khan has amassed 3751 runs in 65 First-Class innings at an average of 68.20 including 13 centuries and 11 half-centuries. He also has the highest individual score of 301* in his First-Class career and has been knocking on the Indian Team’s doors for a very long time now. He has been consistently performing well in first-class cricket but has still been ignored by the selectors for the national team.

Recently, Virat Kohli opted out of the first two Tests against England citing personal reasons but India announced Rajat Patidar as his replacement and again snubbed Sarfaraz Khan from the squad. He has been banging on the selector’s doors for a long time after being sidelined every time but now he can hope to be included in the squad for the last three Tests against England, the squad for which will be announced soon.
