Pakistan National Cricket Team batter Saud Shakeel achieved an unwanted feat to his name as he became the seventh batter in first-class cricket to be timed out. He became part of the dismissal during day two of the final of the President's Trophy, a domestic tournament in Pakistan.

Saud Shakeel, who was playing for the State Bank of Pakistan, walked out to bat after his team lost two wickets in two balls. The Pakistan National Cricket Team batter, however, took some time to come out and it didn't go well with the opposition side PTV.

Saud Shakeel wasn't prepared to bat, three minutes had already passed as he took guard

The captain of PTV, Ahmad Butt, appealed to the umpire about Saud Shakeel not taking the guard within the required three minutes. However, the Umpires considered the appeal, and the Pakistan National Cricket Team batter was given out in what is a unique dismissal in the Cricket.

As per the reports in ESPNCricinfo, it is learned that with two wickets falling back to back, Saud Shakeel wasn't prepared and as he went on to take the guard, three minutes had already passed, following which a timed-out appeal can be lodged, after which he termed out.

Muhammad Shahzad took a hat-trick to leave State Bank of Pakistan struggling

Shakeel was rushed to walk out after Muhammad Shahzad removed Umar Amin and Fawad Alam. After Shakeel was termed out unusually, Irfan Khan came out to bat, and he was back in the first ball as the pacer took a hat-trick to leave State Bank of Pakistan go from 128 for 1 to 128 for 5 in the space of three balls.

Muhammad Shahzad's brilliance with the ball saw the State Bank of Pakistan getting bundled out for 205. Former Pakistan opener Imran Butt was the top scorer for the team, slamming 89 runs.

The timed-out dismissal recently was seen in the ICC World Cup 2023 when Bangladesh National Cricket Team skipper Shakib Al Hasan appealed against Angelo Mathews. The all-rounder became the only cricketer to be dismissed in this manner during an international match.

Saud Shakeel was dropped from the Pakistan National Cricket Team squad for the ODI series against New Zealand

Coming to Saud Shakeel, the left-hander was part of the Pakistan National Cricket Team in the ICC Champions Trophy 2025. He had a decent outing in the tournament as he slammed a magnificent half-century against India and was the leading run-getter for his team in that match with his knock of 64 runs.

Despite playing brilliant innings, Shakeel was dropped from the Pakistan National Cricket Team squad for the ODI series against the New Zealand National Cricket Team. The development saw PCB facing a lot of criticism, but so far, there isn't any official confirmation as to why he was dropped.
