United States of America (USA) pacer Saurabh Netravalkar is one of the most talked about names in the ongoing T20 World Cup 2024. This is because the left-arm pacer has been exceptional with the ball for his team and is the standout performer.
Indian-origin Saurabh Netravalkar, who is a software engineer at Oracle in the USA, first hogged the headlines after his sensational performance in the game against Pakistan. The left-arm pacer returned with the figures of 2/18 and then also defended 18 runs in the super over to help his team win the game and script history.
Saurabh Netravalkar however, didn't stop there as he then came up with even better performance in the game against India. The left-arm pacer removed Virat Kohli for a golden duck and then followed it with the wicket of skipper Rohit Sharma at the Nassau County International Cricket Stadium in New York on Wednesday (12th June).
This has made cricket fans across the world go gaga about the Saurabh Netravalkar. This was evident when 11 journalists reportedly decided to skip India pacer Arshdeep Singh's post-match press conference to interview Netravalkar in the ICC Mixed media zone after the match between India and USA at the Nassau County International Cricket Stadium in New York on Wednesday.
Media personnel confirmed the same on his Twitter account. While highlighting the growth of cricket in the United States of America, he explained:
"Want a measure of the impact USA's T20 WC performance has made on general/cricket media here in New York? 11 reporters just skipped India Player of the Match Arshdeep Singh's press conference to spend 10 minutes interviewing USA bowler Saurabh Netravalkar in the mixed zone."

Saurabh Netravalkar returned with the figures of 2/18 against India. While on the other hand, Arshdeep Singh was the star performer of the game. He returned with the figures of 4/9, his career-best, and also won the Player of the Match for his heroics against the United States of America.
USA head coach Stuart Law's press conference lasts for 11 minutes
Apart from Saurabh Netravalkar getting all the attention in the press conference, it is learned that the post-match press conference of USA head coach Stuart Law lasted for around 11 minutes. While on the other hand, Arshdeep Singh was let go off after over four minutes.
This is because the USA has been exceptional in the ongoing T20 World Cup 2024. They have played the high-quality brand of cricket and are very much in contention for the Super 8 stage, having thumped Canada and Pakistan in their earlier games of the tournament.
To qualify for the Super 8 stage of the tournament, the USA needs to win their last game against Ireland. The match will take place in Florida, where it has been raining incessantly for the last few days. If the game between the teams gets washed out and Pakistan loses to Ireland, they will be through.
