SCO vs ZIM Live Streaming- Zimbabwe Tour of Scotland 2021, 2nd T20I. Scotland took a 1-0 lead in the three-match T20 series after beating Zimbabwe by 7 runs in the first game on Wednesday. The second match of the series will be played on Friday at Grange Cricket Stadium.
Scotland won the first game of the series but won’t be too happy with their performance with that bat. After winning the toss and opting to bat first, Scotland lost their first four wickets for just 30 runs inside power play. The likes of G Munsey (1 off 2), Coetzer (2 off 3) and O Hairs (5 off 3) got out on low scores. M Cross then joined hands with Berrington to revive the innings but only for a brief period as the former got out in the 13th over after scoring 14 off 18 deliveries.
Barring Barrington, all the batsmen in the top-five got out in single digits. Berrington, however, held firm and waged a lone battle. He played a scintillating knock of 82 runs off 61 balls and stayed unbeaten till the very end.
Wickets kept falling at the other end but Berrington ensured runs keep coming at one end. His knock helped the team post a competitive score of 141 runs at the end of the first innings. Zimbabwe bowling was good if not exceptional. L Jongwe and Chatara picked two wickets each, while Ngarava and W Masakadza claimed one each.
Zimbabwe too had a miserable start with the bat in the second innings. Both the openers went back to the hut inside the first three overs. Wesley Madhevere went back to the hut without scoring his account, while Marumani scored 3 off 9 balls.
Regis Chakabva and Craig Ervine, however, led the recovery and stitched a 48-run partnership for the third wicket. Chakabva got out in the 9th over after scoring 17 off 17, while skipper Ervine scored 26 off 27 balls. Zimbabwe lost both of them inside 11 overs and needed someone to guide the team home.
Sean Williams and Milton Shumba stitched another fifty run-partnership to propel the team further. However, Williams’ wicket saw a collapse as wickets fell in quick succession after that. Shumba remained unbeaten at 45 off 30 balls, but he found little support at the other end. Zimbabwe at the end of 20 overs could manage 134 runs and fell 7 runs short of the target.
Safyaan Sharif starred with the ball for Scotland, picking 4 wickets for 24 runs in 4 overs.
