Shahbaz Ahmed Bought By Lucknow Super Giants For INR 2.40 crore at IPL Auction 2025

Shahbaz Ahmed has registered himself for the IPL 2025 mega auction at the base price of INR 1 crore. A spin-bowling allrounder, the 29-year-old played for Sunrisers Hyderabad in the last edition of the IPL.
His IPL journey began with Royal Challengers Bengaluru in 2020. Shahbaz played only 2 games in his debut season and picked up 2 wickets while maintaining an economy rate of less than 8. In IPL 2021, he played 11 games for the Bengaluru-based outfit and picked up 7 wickets. He also maintained a brilliant economy rate of less than 7 in his second IPL season.
Shahbaz remained with Royal Challengers Bengaluru for IPL 2022 and 2023 as well. He made a good impact with the bat in the 2022 season. In 16 games, the allrounder scored 219 runs in addition to picking up 4 wickets.
He had a forgettable campaign with both bat and ball in IPL 2023. In 10 games, Ahmed scored just 42 runs and picked up 1 wicket before being released by Royal Challengers Bengaluru. In IPL 2024, he played 16 games for Sunrisers Hyderabad and scored 215 runs in addition to taking 7 wickets.

Lucknow Super Giants have signed up Shahbaz Ahmed for INR 2.40 crore at the IPL 2025 mega auction. Delhi Capitals and Sunrisers Hyderabad also bid for the allrounder.
