Pakistan pace spearhead Shaheen Afridi has posted a cryptic message amid reports of misbehaving with the coaches. The left-arm pacer is reportedly under investigation by the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) for his misconduct in the team.
Things are not going well for Pakistan cricket at the moment and the PCB is taking some big calls at the moment to get the house in order. Last month, Pakistan bowed out of the T20 World Cup at the group stage after suffering losses against the USA and India. Before that, they had lost the T20I series in England and had also lost a T20I in Ireland.
Earlier this week, the PCB sacked former cricketers Wahab Riaz and Abdul Razzaq after the team's poor display in the T20 World Cup. Additionally, the PCB has also sacked team manager Mansoor Rana. As per the reports, Rana was sacked because he did not take any action against Shaheen Afridi for his misconduct.
Shaheen Afridi's cryptic post:
The Pakistani media has reported that Shaheen Afridi misbehaved with batting coach Mohammad Yousuf during the tour of England in May. They were involved in a verbal spat and the bowler had to later issue an apology in front of the team. Although the Pakistani team management dismissed the matter after the apology, the PCB has launched an investigation.
Amid all the drama, Shaheen Afridi finally broke his silence with a cryptic post on social media on Thursday (July 11). He took to X (formerly Twitter) to post a video of himself bowling in the nets with the caption: "Rise Above."

Things have not really gone well for Shaheen Afridi this year. At the start of the year, he was the captain of the Pakistan T20I team but was sacked from the post after just one series. In April this year, the PCB removed him as the captain and reinstated Babar Azam as the T20I skipper.
Afridi did not have the best of campaigns in the T20 World Cup as well. He went wicketless against the USA before taking just 1 wicket against India. He went on to pick four wickets in the last two games but his efforts were not enough for Pakistan to qualify for the Super 8s. He could be seen in action next when Pakistan welcome Bangladesh for a Test series next month.
