Legendary Pakistan all-rounder Shahid Afridi has come under the scanner after an old picture of him with the terrorist Uzair Baloch went viral across the social media platforms. Many fans have been heavily criticizing the former Pakistan captain after the picture resurfaced online.
The viral picture is reportedly from 2013 and shows Afridi sitting at a dinner gathering with Uzair Baloch in Karachi. As soon as the image went viral across social media, many started questioning the legendary all-rounder’s connection with a man who was one of Pakistan’s dangerous criminals.
Viral Uzair Baloch picture puts Shahid Afridi in trouble
Uzair Baloch was allegedly linked to the Lyari gang network in Karachi and was involved in gang violence, extortion, killings, and drug crimes. After his arrest in 2016, he became one of the most high-profile underworld criminals in Pakistan.
Afridi’s image sent shockwaves because the blockbuster Bollywood film Dhurandhar featured a gangster character named Uzair Baloch, who was involved in anti-India activities. Because of this connection, Afridi’s image of speaking against India has made the headlines.

Over the years, Afridi has made several anti-India remarks and dragged Kashmir into India-Pakistan issues. Even the former Pakistan captain faced heavy criticism for his remarks on Kashmir and Indian politics. A couple of times, Afridi and Gautam Gambhir went head to head on social media.
During the India-Pakistan tensions in 2025 following the Pahalgam terror attack, Afridi openly supported the Pakistan Army and shared social media posts against India.
Here's how fans reacted to the photo:
