There is absolutely no stopping Shardul Thakur in the ongoing Ranji Trophy. Things have not gone well for the all-rounder in recent times as far as international cricket and the IPL are concerned. However, those setbacks have not stopped him from delivering stunning performances for Mumbai in the domestic circuit.
He has been turning heads with his performances in the Ranji Trophy. After impressing with both bat and ball in the Vijay Hazare Trophy, Shardul Thakur had a game to remember with the bat when Mumbai locked horns against Jammu and Kashmir in the Ranji Trophy.
In a game where big names such as Rohit Sharma, Yashasvi Jaiswal, and Ajinkya Rahane failed to get going with the bat, Thakur stood tall and rescued Mumbai not once but twice. In the first innings, he scored 51 runs that helped Mumbai recover from 47/7 and posted a respectable 120. No other Mumbai batter could even reach the 30-run mark in that innings.

In the second innings, Mumbai were once again in trouble after being reduced to 101/7. However, Thakur rescued his side for the second time in the game by scoring a stunning century. He scored 119 runs although Mumbai eventually ended up losing the game.
Shardul Thakur delivers for Mumbai again:
Shardul Thakur has continued his heroics for Mumbai in their ongoing Ranji Trophy clash against Meghalaya as well. After Mumbai captain Ajinkya Rahane won the toss and opted to bowl first, his decision was totally justified by Thakur.
The Mumbai allrounder blew Meghalaya away by taking a sensational hat-trick in only his second over. After dismissing opener Nishanta Chakraborty for a duck in the very first over, Shardul Thakur dismissed B Anirudh, Sumit Kumar, and Jaskirat Singh on successive deliveries in the second over to complete his hat-trick. Thanks to his spell, Mumbai bowled out Meghalaya for a paltry total of 86 runs.

Shardul Thakur was not done yet. After his heroics with the ball on day one, he made a big impact with the bat on day two. The allrounder smashed a whirlwind half-century to put Mumbai firmly in the driver's seat in the game.
Mumbai were on 458/6 when Thakur walked out to bat. The stage was set for Thakur to fire on all cylinders and he did not disappoint. He went on to smash 84 runs off just 42 balls with the help of nine fours and five sixes. Mumbai's score was 614 when Meghalaya finally managed to dismiss Thakur.
