Shoaib Akhtar openly calls Mohsin Naqvi ‘jaahil, incompetent’, drops criminal allegation

Pakistan cricket has found itself in a full storm after a crushing defeat to India in their T20 World Cup 2026 match in Colombo, and the Rawalpindi Express, Shoaib Akhtar, has set the cricket world on fire with his explosive attack on the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) and its chairman, Mohsin Naqvi.

After Pakistan’s embarrassing 61-run loss to India in the T20 World Cup 2026 clash at R. Premadasa Stadium, Shoaib Akhtar went on a fiery rant as he attacked directly, and his anger was clear. The former speed king’s target number one was Mohsin Naqvi.

Akhtar openly questioned the ability of Naqvi, who is also the country’s Interior Minister, to run Pakistan cricket and even called him “incompetent” and “Jaheel” for such a powerful position. He also stressed that when leadership is weak, the entire team suffers.

Shoaib Akhtar calls Mohsin Naqvi 'Jaahil'

Speaking to ABP News, Shoaib Akhtar said: “Now, one guy doesn't even know he's the chairman of the Pakistan Cricket Board. How will the team run now? You're saying one guy, you've made him a superstar, he can't win a single match. You've made him a star who can't win a single living match.”

The Rawalpindi Express further added, “Brother, when you make these kinds of stars, when you choose them, when you pick them, then you'll have this problem only. But again, the point is, if you see, do you know what the biggest crime in the world is? The biggest crime in the world is that you give a big job to an incompetent and jaheel person.”

Big name, big job and big failures!!

But he did not stop there, as the former Pakistan pacer also blasted the continued backing of senior stars like Babar Azam, Shaheen Afridi, and Shadab Khan, who all failed badly against India. They are struggling to meet the demand of the T20I cricket, yet they continue to enjoy superstar status.

Akhtar said that giving big responsibilities to people who are not capable has damaged Pakistan cricket. The former pace gun added, “When you give a big job to an incompetent and ignorant person, he will destroy the country. He will bring down any organization. The example is in front of you; you're intelligent enough to understand.”

Shoaib Akhtar demands accountability and hopes for Super 8 miracle

Furthermore, the former Pakistan speedster has demanded strict accountability from both the PCB and the senior players after the team’s poor show against India. Well, the Men in Green’s hopes of making it to the Super 8 round of the ongoing T20 World Cup 2026 were severely dented after a humiliating defeat against India on Sunday.

However, Akhtar still hopes Pakistan can beat Namibia and qualify for the Super 8 stage and noted that he will continue to support the national side and that that is all that he can do.

He signed off by saying, “India has gone very far ahead, and we have been left very far behind. It’s all about TRP now (television rating points). We aren’t going to see any fight on the pitch, but I hope Pakistan can beat Namibia, reach the Super 8s, and some kind of miracle can happen. I’ll keep backing Pakistan.”
