Veteran Team India fast bowler Mohammed Shami’s estranged wife, Hasin Jahan, and their daughter, Arshi, have been booked for attempted murder. According to recent reports, the FIR was filed by their neighbour Dalia Khatun following a violent altercation in Suri town, Birbhum district, West Bengal.
Shami and Jahan got married on June 6, 2014, but their relationship ended after she filed a domestic violence complaint against him in 2018. The couple have a daughter named Aaira, born on July 17, 2015. Recently, the Calcutta High Court directed Shami to pay ₹4 lakh per month in alimony to Hasin Jahan.

Hasin Jahan and her daughter Arshi Jahan have been booked for attempted murder in Suri town, Birbhum district, West Bengal. The incident reportedly began when Jahan tried to start construction on a disputed piece of land.
Jahan was involved in a physical confrontation with the neighbor. The dispute escalated after locals opposed Jahan’s alleged attempt to take control of the contested property in Ward Number 5.
According to the NCMIndia Council for Men Affairs, the FIR was filed by neighbor Dalia Khatun under several sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), including 126(2), 115(2), 117(2), 109, 351(3), and 3(5).

Social media platform "@NCMIndiaa" shared the video of the fight on its platform and said, "An attempt to murder FIR under BNS sections 126(2), 115(2), 117(2), 109, 351(3) and 3(5) has lodged against Hasin Jahan, the estranged wife of Mohammed Shami and Arshi Jahan, her daughter from her first marriage by her neighbour Dalia Khatun in Suri town of Birbhum district in West Bengal.
"The fight started after Hasin Jahan started construction on a disputed plot in ward number 5 of Suri which is allegedly in the name of her Daughter Arshi Jahan. It is alleged that Hasin and her daughter brutally assaulted Dalia Khatun after she tried to stop the construction."

According to reports from TV9, Hasin Jahan and Arshi Jahan have been booked in a case involving serious allegations, including attempted murder. The police have officially registered the FIR and begun an investigation, which is currently underway.

Shami was last seen in action during the 2025 Indian Premier League (IPL). He represented SunRisers Hyderabad (SRH) after being acquired for ₹10 crore at the mega auction. The right-arm fast bowler struggled throughout the season, taking six wickets in nine matches at an economy rate of 11.23.
