Punjab Kings skipper Shreyas Iyer left everyone on the ground, including MI greats Rohit Sharma and Suryakumar Yadav, with a moment of sheer brilliance on the field, when he dismissed MI skipper Hardik Pandya.

The Mumbai Indians vs Punjab Kings match is a rematch of the game between the two semi-finalists from the previous season of the IPL. The Punjab Kings had knocked them out of the competition, with Shreyas Iyer playing a captain's knock in the match.

This season's story has been a masterclass for the Punjab Kings, as they are the only undefeated side so far under skipper Iyer's captaincy, while the Mumbai Indians have had a contrasting season, ending at the bottom of the table after a quarter of the season.

QDK returned to his former franchise, for whom he had amassed 1300+ runs across three seasons and was looking back to restore the lost belief in his skills. He replaced Rohit Sharma in the playing XI, following his injury.

It turned out to be a blessing in disguise for the MI team as he scored a century and got his form going with some confidence. This would force the management to consider him even when Rohit Sharma returns to open for the franchise.

Suryakumar Yadav was dismissed for a duck

In Rohit Sharma's absence, Suryakumar Yadav was the second-most experienced batter for the team in the match. However, the Indian skipper's form in recent years has been a massive concern. Despite his poor touch, he had amassed 700+ runs in the last season of the IPL; however, that hasn't been the story this season.

Suryakumar, who has struggled with his poor form and low strike rate, saw himself being dismissed for a duck. He was dismissed on the first ball from Arshdeep Singh, as Shreyas Iyer had placed a fielder smartly enough at the short third-man region.
