The BCCI has confirmed that Shubha Satheesh fractured her finger during India’s one-off women’s Test against England. She was India’s top scorer in the first innings where they put up a total of 428, scoring 69 on her international debut. She did not bat in India’s second innings as the team declared on 186 for 6.
It has not been cleared out as when Shubha picked up the injury. The ring finger in her left hand was splinted when India bowled on Friday. However, there were no visible signs of her injury when she attended the post-day press conference on Thursday. She also took part in India’s pre-play warm-up routine on Friday.
However, it has emerged that Shubha Satheesh went for scans and the on-air commentators revealed that she had suffered a hairline fracture in her ring finger. Shubha Satheesh now faces a race to be fit before the start of India’s one-off Test against Australia which is scheduled to begin next Thursday.

Shubha Satheesh Was Picked Up By Royal Challengers Bangalore In The WPL Auction

The 24-year-old Shubha Satheesh has had an eventful few weeks. She got her maiden India call-up for the Tests against England and Australia. A few days later, she was picked by Royal Challengers Bangalore in the WPL auctions.
“I can call it as just my time,” she said on Thursday. “I see only the good side of it right now and it feels amazing – one after another good news coming up. Feels amazing to be part of.”
India won the one-off Test against England by a huge 347-run margin. England Women were all-out on 131 in the second innings as Deepti Sharma took a four-fer in the second innings and a fifer in the first innings. Deepti was awarded the Player of the Match for her terrific performance. She scored a half-century in the first innings and then took nine wickets in the entire test.
Shubha Satheesh has also performed really well in her very first Test and she could be seen playing for India in the limited-overs cricket soon. She could get her maiden India call-up for ODIs and T20Is if she performs well in the upcoming Tata Women’s Premier League 2024 where she will represent Royal Challengers Bangalore.
