The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has named a 15-member squad for the upcoming Asia Cup 2025, which is set to begin on September 9. Young India batter Shubman Gill has been named as vice-captain of the side despite concerns over his place for the eight-team tournament in the UAE.

The BCCI Men’s Selection Committee, headed by Ajit Agarkar, revealed the Asia Cup 2025 squad on Tuesday, August 19. Suryakumar Yadav will captain the Men in Blue after recovering from sports hernia surgery. Senior players Jasprit Bumrah and Hardik Pandya will provide experienced support to the team.

The 25-year-old has also excelled in other formats, leading India to a 2-2 draw in England in his debut Test series as captain. He played a key role in the 2023 ODI World Cup final and the 2025 Champions Trophy triumph.
