Shubman Gill will next be seen in action in the Asia Cup 2025 and may open the batting alongside Abhishek Sharma. Team India, led by Suryakumar Yadav, will start their campaign against the UAE on September 10 and face arch-rivals Pakistan on September 14 at the Dubai International Stadium.
The T20 Asia Cup 2025, taking place from September 9 to 28 in the UAE, features eight teams divided into two groups of four. Group A includes India, Pakistan, Oman, and hosts the UAE, while Group B comprises Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, Afghanistan, and Hong Kong.

Gill recently captained India in the Anderson-Tendulkar Trophy. His debut series as Test skipper ended in a 2-2 draw. India played without retired veterans Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli. Gill scored 754 runs in 10 innings at an average of 75.40, including four centuries.
The 25-year-old secured the Player of the Series award for his stellar batting performances. Gill has amassed 2,647 runs in 37 Test matches at an average of 41.35, with nine centuries and seven fifties.
He scored 1,346 runs in 15 Tests against England at an average of 51.76, including six centuries. Against Australia, he has 537 runs in nine Tests (average 35.80), and against New Zealand, 324 runs in five Tests (average 32.40).
