India’s Test and ODI captain Shubman Gill is among the three nominees for the ICC Men’s Player of the Month award after another outstanding month with the bat. Earlier, Wimbledon gave Shubman Gill Royal treatment.
Shubman Gill carried forward his stunning IPL 2026 form to the recent bilateral series against Afghanistan at home. The Indian skipper smashed a brilliant 126 against Afghanistan in the one-off Test and helped his team to register a record win last month.
Gill then continued his superb form in the ODI series, scoring 238 runs in just two innings against Afghanistan. He smashed 84 in the first ODI and then a stunning 154 in the second ODI despite suffering from cramps and won both the Player of the Match and Player of the Series awards.
Nathan Smith, Mossadek Hossain join Shubman Gill in ICC Player of the Month Award race
The next nominee is the New Zealand fast bowler Nathan Smith, who enjoyed a dream England tour. He led the bowling attack brilliantly and played a key role in New Zealand's historic 2-1 Test series win over England.
Smith finished as the highest wicket-taker with 16 wickets in the three-match Test series in England and was named Player of the Series. His best spell was 6/70 in the first Test at the Lord’s.
Mossadek Hossain made a dream return to international cricket after nearly four years. The Bangladesh all-rounder played a key role in his team's historic 2-1 ODI series win over Australia and was named Player of the Series. He scored 157 runs, including two fifties, and also took two crucial wickets along with a remarkable catch.

The International Cricket Council has also announced the three nominees—Kathryn Bryce, Danni Wyatt-Hodge, and Shree Charani—for the ICC Women's Player of the Month award for June after their impressive performances during the recently concluded ICC Women's T20 World Cup 2026.
Scotland captain Kathryn Bryce has been shortlisted after she led her team from the front with both bat and ball last month. The Scotland captain scored 178 runs and picked up 11 wickets to help Scotland win the tri-series against Bangladesh and the Netherlands at home.
She continued her excellent form in the recent ICC Women’s T20 World Cup, hitting a superb 60 against Ireland and also taking eight wickets at an average of 16.5 and an economy rate of 7.14.

India's rising spin star Shree Charani was also nominated for the ICC Women’s Player of the Month award for June 2026 following her brilliant performance during the tournament.
Shree Charani finished as the highest wicket-taker in the ICC Women's T20 World Cup 2026. She claimed 14 wickets in six matches at an average of 11.00 and an economy rate of just 6.69. She bowled stunning spells against Pakistan (3/21), the Netherlands (419), and South Africa (3/24) in the tournament.
England batter Danni Wyatt-Hodge was the final finalist, as she was nominated after her remarkable performance that helped England to reach the ICC Women's T20 World Cup 2026 final at home.
England opener Danni Wyatt-Hodge scored 287 runs in six T20Is last month, including an unbeaten 105 against Sri Lanka, 65 against West Indies, and 89* against New Zealand. She finished as the leading run-scorer in the ICC Women's T20 World Cup 2026 with 302 runs, becoming the first woman to cross the 300-run mark.
