However, in a positive development for the India National Cricket Team, Shubman Gill has resumed batting in the nets and is getting ready for the second Test. There are even chances that the batter might play in the warmup game against the Prime Minister's XI.

When batting, he looked very comfortable - Abhishek Nayar on Shubman Gill

Indian assistant coach Abhishek Nayar talked about the possibility of Gill playing the warmup game. He revealed that the batter looked comfortable in the nets, and the final call related to him playing the practice game will be taken after the assessment. Speaking to reporters, he explained:

"He is batting now. The evaluation will be done by our physio. I am not aware of his status. But, when batting, he looked very comfortable. He is batting indoors. We will assess whether he will play tomorrow's match after the assessment."

Gill faced a few underarm throws before increasing the intensity of his training. The batter was then battling against left-arm pacer Yash Dayal and right-arm fast bowler Akash Deep in the nets. But didn't look in any sort of discomfort while batting.

After that, Gill batted alongside India captain Rohit Sharma, who is on track to lead India in the warm-up match. The skipper missed the first game of the series due to the birth of his child and joined the team ahead of Day 4 of the opening Test match.

Shubman Gill's return to the team will be a massive boost for India

Gill's return to the team will be a massive boost for the India National Cricket Team. In his absence, Devdutt Padikkal batted at No.3 in Perth and the batter didn't grab the opportunity. If deemed fit, Gill is likely to walk straight into the XI for the second Test against the Australia National Cricket Team.

Shubman Gill has been one of India's best batters in Test cricket this year. He has slammed over 800 runs in the longest format of the game and would be hoping to carry on his form. The warmup game of India begins on 30th November while the second Test between the teams is all set to take place from 6th December in Adelaide.
